Cushion preference is personal - like choosing a bed pillow. Some prefer support while others like the feeling of sinking into the feather. Looks of plump and pert are favoured while others cannot go past a more lived-in and soft appearance. At Weave, we like to give our customers choice. This is why we provide two options of inserts: micro blend or traditional feather. Both of these options make our beautiful Weave cushions even more luxurious and comfortable in your home.
Choosing the right insert is almost as important as choosing the right cover – if the insert is substandard the cushion will just look cheap and flat. Read on to discover which insert is right for you…
The Micro blend is a far superior option to the polyester dacron fill that is commonly supplied. Standard polyester inners have a tendency to look plump when you first receive your cushion but in time will irreversibly flatten and lose their form – resulting in a sad and saggy look!
Our special blend of microfibre yarns will stay plump and pert for its lifetime yet soft and supportive with many people preferring this to traditional feather due to their density and pliability. The micro blend cushion inserts have the perfect blend of synthetic microfibres to look feel and perform just like a traditional feather, and yes by nature they are ethically sourced and cruelty-free – being the perfect vegan alternative.
We make these inners locally to exclusive precise specifications and weight. The microfibre is encased and finished with a premium cotton cover to allow machine washable and tumble dry care instructions. These inners are also odourless mildew proof and hypoallergenic so a great choice for those that suffer from allergies.
Feather inners are a favourite with high-end designers and stylists for their lived in but elegant look. The stylists hack for a natural-looking cushion onset is to employ the ‘karate chop’ to the centre of the cushion. Feather cushions will hold this look as they are easily mouldable whereas our microfibre will bounce back to its original shape. The feather gives a premium weight to your cushions and can be easily moulded to suit your comfort requirements. As feathers will flatten and mould to your body when you lie on them – a little maintenance is required as you will need to plump your feather cushions to ‘fluff’ them up regularly. Feather cushions are also lovely and warm to sit against on a cold night due to feathers natural insulative properties.
For the plushest and comfortable cushion, our premium feather inners are made from 100% white duck feather with a 100% cotton down proof cover. This means no feathers will pierce the cover and escape into your living room. Our feather inners are filled with 1000grams of fill giving a luxurious density to your cushion. We have worked hard with our suppliers to deliver the most ethical certified and hygienically sourced feathers. Adhering to the Responsible Down Standard certification and completing a supply chain traceability audit.
The choice is personal and both of our options provide a premium look that will do your cover justice. There are pros and cons to both options so we hope we’ve provided you with all the information you need to decide on your perfect inner.
